Fable uses separately billed usage credits.

Check billing before selecting Fable 5 or 5.1. Pro’s included allowance does not cover them.
Prefer your included models if you do not want extra charges. Check the provider’s rules before enabling credits.

Fable is included, within a separate usage limit.

Choose Fable 5 or 5.1 in Claude’s model picker.
Fable can use up to 50% of your weekly allowance. At the limit, switch models or deliberately enable billed credits.

A personal Kiro upgrade does not unlock Fable.

The current model table reserves Fable 5.1 for a limited Enterprise preview. Check the table before buying a plan.
Use a supported model in your current tier. Opus 5.5 is listed on paid tiers at 2.0x credits, not Free.

Try Fable itself: which plan includes it?

Max plans and premium Team/Enterprise seats include Fable 5 and 5.1 up to 50% of weekly usage limits; Pro and Team Standard seats use them with usage credits. Claude Free does not include Fable. The July promotion ended on July 19, 2026, so an old tutorial’s free allowance no longer applies.

Is the July promotion still running?

No. Anthropic says the original Fable 5 promotion ended on July 19, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM PT, and Fable 5.1 was never part of a promotion.
