Google Antigravity Skills

Antigravity keeps personal Skills in ~/.gemini/config/skills/, one folder the App and the CLI share. 104 ready-made Skills for video, images, web pages and slides.

Checkout is not open yet: it opens once our payment provider finishes its review, and downloads open with it. Nothing is charged until then.

Antigravity’s docs list ~/.gemini/config/skills/ and .agents/skills/. ~/.agents/skills/ is not on that list, so use the Gemini config folder.

How to add a Skill to Google Antigravity

  1. Unzip the Skill so its folder sits at ~/.gemini/config/skills/<skill>/SKILL.md for every project, or at .agents/skills/<skill>/ in a workspace.
  2. Send your next message: Antigravity rereads Skills before each turn. In the CLI, run /skills reload to add its slash command.
  3. In the CLI, run /skills to see it. In the App, open Settings, pick the project and scroll to Customizations.
  4. Ask for the result, or type /<skill> to run it directly.

Good to know

  • One level deep only. Antigravity scans skills/ one level down, so SKILL.md must be in a folder directly inside skills/. A Skill nested deeper is skipped unless a skills.json manifest names it.
  • Workspace beats personal. If two Skills share a name, the workspace copy wins over ~/.gemini/config/skills/, which wins over built-in Skills. In the CLI, ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/ and ~/.gemini/skills/ beat all of them.
  • The CLI-only folders stay CLI-only. The App doesn’t read ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/ or ~/.gemini/skills/. For a Skill in both the App and the CLI, use ~/.gemini/config/skills/.

Antigravity Skills vs rules

Antigravity loads every rule it finds; rules don’t replace each other. A Skill puts only its name and description in front of the agent on each turn, and the agent reads the full SKILL.md when your task matches.

FAQ

Google Antigravity Skills: questions

Where is the Antigravity skills folder?

Global Skills go in ~/.gemini/config/skills/<skill>/, shared by the Antigravity App and CLI. Workspace Skills go in .agents/skills/<skill>/ in your project; commit that folder to share it with your team. Source (opens in a new tab)

Do I have to restart Antigravity after adding a Skill?

No. Antigravity rereads rules and Skills before each turn, so a new Skill applies to your next message. In the CLI, run /skills reload or start a new conversation to update the /skills list and the slash commands. Source (opens in a new tab)

Why doesn’t Antigravity find my Skill?

Check that the folder is in the workspace, a parent folder up to the repository root, or ~/.gemini/config/skills/, and that SKILL.md sits in a folder directly inside skills/: Antigravity scans one level deep. Source (opens in a new tab)

Does Antigravity still read .agent/skills?

Yes. It defaults to .agents/skills but still reads .agent/skills for backward compatibility. The IDE also still supports the legacy ~/.gemini/antigravity/skills/. Source (opens in a new tab)
