From a prompt to editable Figma layers

An author-reported route from code to native design layers, with generated assets and prototype checks kept separate.

What the author showed

Our September 7 source review recorded multiple mobile artboards and a Figma prototype. The author described using Codex with Scripter and the Figma Plugin API to create editable structure, importing generated backgrounds separately, and checking interactions in the browser. We inspected three images then, but not the full quoted video. That is an author demonstration, not proof of a particular model’s design superiority.

Why native layers change the handoff

A screenshot answers what an interface might look like. Native layers let a teammate revise text, spacing and component states. Figma’s official API supports reading, creating and modifying file contents. That confirms the interface capability—not the quality, cost or repeatability of the author’s result.

Our suggested next experiment

Start with one screen in a copy of a design file. Specify the elements that must remain editable: a heading, a form label, a primary action and an error state. Ask for structure first and visual assets second. Then change the heading to a much longer one and navigate from the primary action to the next screen. Inspect text editing, overflow, focus and the return path. This is our proposed test; we have not run it against this author’s project.

When this route is worth the extra setup

Use it when the next owner needs a design file they can change. If your actual deliverable is a deployed website, a Figma prototype is another handoff—not the finish line. Ask which artifact the recipient will open tomorrow before adding a new design tool. Do not install an unfamiliar plugin or grant file access merely because an attractive demo uses it.

What remains unknown

The complete prompt, exact model and settings, attempts, source file and rights to generated assets are not established here. We do not supply the author’s Figma file or screenshots. Follow the original post for the demonstration and treat this page as a practical reading of the method, not a finished paid recipe.

Use the same checks on another demo.
