A lava lamp test

About the post

A 30-second lava lamp animation, a common test for rendering fluid blobs in code. The author says it used maximum reasoning and looks much more refined than earlier attempts.

Our summary. The author’s own words are in the post above; we do not copy them.

Our note

A single lava lamp on a dark backdrop, held in one fixed front view for the whole 30 seconds: a silver cap and a flared silver base around a tapered clear glass, with orange wax glowing where it pools at the bottom. At times a column of wax reaches up out of that pool, while separate rounded blobs float higher up the glass, and the lamp throws a warm circle of light onto a glossy floor. There is no text, no interface and no sound. The maximum-reasoning setting and the comparison with earlier attempts are the author's account; no prompt was shared.

Written by The Frontier Brief after watching the video (Nov 5, 2026). It describes what is on screen; we have not run the work ourselves.
