An optical illusion nobody has seen before
Author’s claim: Claude Fable 5.5 · model not released · not verified by us
About the post
A 50-second motion piece built around a single optical illusion. The author says the request was for an illusion that had never been made or seen before.

Our note
Titled "The Clockwork Ring", the piece starts with a red ring broken into eight arcs over a grey disc of wavy stripes, with a white fixation dot in the middle. Captions ask you to keep your eyes on that dot: the ring flashes in the same place every time, yet seems to tick round like a cog, one tooth per flash. A "Stripes hidden" stage swaps the pattern for flat grey to show it is a plain circle, and "Stripes back" brings the cog motion back. The final caption puts the teeth down to the viewer's brain. The author shared no prompt; whether the illusion is new is their claim.
